Tommy Igoe Goove Essentials Beginning

I’ve just decided to work through Tommy Igoe’s “Groove Esentials” Volume’s 1&2 as “A Sight Reading Drill for Advanced Players” and blog about it. Am I nuts? Will this be a complete waste of time? Can I get through both volumes while continuing my ear training, piano training, and psuedo-music theory training? We will find out tomorrow. Tonight, it’s 7:50pm and Hank is already under the studio desk, so my task tonight will be to import the files from the play-along CDs and create a Logic project or 2. I’m not going to try and build a chart until tomorrow because I want to record the first take as fresh and as honest as possible.

Babci’s Bop – Aug 2009

This is just Danny and me playing what I eventually want to put lyrics and guitar to. Babci loosely means “grandmother” in Polish, and the song is basically about her (or, more precisely, one particular comical aspect of her <g>).
